John Nieto - Cubist Collection & LANDSCAPE
John Nieto made many homage paintings during his long and distinguished career, always attributing the works to the artists who inspired them. These rare paintings incorporated styles and subjects of historic greats including, Botticelli, Vermeer, Dürer, Van Gogh, De Kooning, and Picasso. During his last eighteen months, Nieto resolved to give homage to the artist he most admired, Pablo Picasso. He merged cubist ideals into the graphic, high-chroma style that brought him the broadest acclaim, while remaining true to the Native American subjects that were closest to his heart.
